If you’re still using canola oil, you should stop. It’s a GMO that has harmful side effects if ingested for a long period. This Canadian invention is made from rapeseed. It was originally called Low Erucic Acid Rapeseed or LEAR for short but for marketing purposes, the name was changed to something more pleasant to hear, canola oil.

There have been studies linking canola use to liver, kidney and nervous system issues. It is also said to increase risk of cancer, slow down normal growth and development, cause free radical damage and cause abnormalities in the blood platelets.
