Not only that, omega 3 can also hinder the growth of plaque in the arteries. It is also a great anti-inflammatory that can reduce swelling in different parts of the body.

A 2004 study involved 58 adults suffering from diabetes, revealed that snacking on a handful of walnuts a day, increased the levels of good cholesterol while reducing bad cholesterol.
