Experts recommend an annual major detox. However, it’d be smart to do it more often since the environment has more toxins than ever. You also need to detox more frequently if you are nursing or you have a chronic degenerative disease. Moreover, there are signs that would tell you it’s time for detox and these include:

  • Fatigue and sluggishness
  • Irritate skin
  • Allergies
  • Minor infections
  • Puffy eyes
  • Menstrual problems
  • Bloating or indigestion

The first thing you need to do when detoxifying is to lighten up the load of toxins that you ingest. Stop smoking and drinking. Keep coffee, saturated fats, and refined sugars at bay. All these are toxic substances that hamper the body’s natural ability to heal.

It’s also a must to avoid using household cleaners and other products that contain chemicals. Use natural homemade products instead.

On top of these, you need to tone down your stress levels. Stress triggers the release of stress hormones that slow down the body’s detoxification enzymes. Stress reduction techniques like yoga, meditation and breathing exercises can help a lot.

  4. Fruit and vegetable detox
  5. Hypoallergenic detox
